Jeanne Wilson, R.D.H, B.S. RYT 200, is a native Tulsan. She began her yoga journey in the 70′s as a student, then teacher at the east side YWCA. While not really “practicing” yoga after a move to New Mexico in the early 80′s, she continued doing the stretches and various asana postures as a warm up to the plethora of exercise forms she experienced for the next two decades—running, rhythmic aerobics, biking, step aerobics, and spin classes. Yoga as a practice came back into her life about 8 years ago. Then in the summer of 2008, she went to Mount Madonna Center in Watsonville, California, and studied for her 200 hour RYT under Baba Hari Dass. Prior to that, Jeanne had spent two weeks in Kerala, India, at a workshop lead by Shiva Rae. Jeanne owns a yoga business, Learn to Be Still, and offers private and small group yoga classes. She also fills in at studios around Tulsa as well as here at The Canebrake. Her life is full living with her Dalmatian, Tillie, working part time as a dental hygienist, and most recently learning the wine industry as a cellar host at Tulsa Hills Wine Cellar. She continues her studies at various workshops locally and around the country and always travels with her yoga mat in tow!
