The distinct call of the Yellow-billed Cuckoo,
The unmistakably brilliant colors of the Painted Bunting,
The playful chatter of the Eastern Bluebird,
Welcoming you to The Canebrake!
The Canebrake’s bi-annual Migrating Bird Count is hosted by the local chapter of the Audubon Society. Of the many birds sweeping through in the spring and fall, you’re likely to catch site of the Indigo and Painted Buntings, as well as many different species of Warblers, Vireos, Bewick’s Wrens, Tanagers and Orioles. The Bluebird Trail is a joy and the resident Bluebirds appear quite pleased with the real estate they’ve captured.
